Whew. This book felt like a personal attack.

Also, I thought this was infinitely better than Love and Other Words, and also not as similar as some people made it sound. Like, a lot of people have summer houses?

Let me also say, for the record, that I do have some trouble designating this as a romance novel. It’s a love story, probably. But I personally loved it. The writing was phenomenal and it kept my attention all the way through.

There was even the proper Delilah acknowledgment

I feel so full of warm and fuzzies. I just want twenty more of this book for anytime I want to feel sunshine and love.

I’m really starting to get into second chance romances!! This book displays so well how love can be messy. I definitely wouldn’t have forgiven Percy tho :’))

7/10 - this book was good, I’m not going to say anything bad about it in those terms, I just felt like #booktok very much so over hyped this, like yeah it was a cute love story, just painfully predictable, like the “plot twist” was very predictable, so idk cute story, just over hyped

3.5. About halfway through the book, I knew something bad was coming, but it wasn’t until right before that I figured it was having to do with Percy and Charlie. Even when it happened, I can’t say I wasn’t miffed at Percy. But….shit happens sometimes.
My only real issue is after everything is kind of revealed, the book is damn near over. No real context other than Sam almost drank himself into a stupor, Percy never got over her guilt and pushed everyone away. Charlie…just went back to being a rake I guess
