It's July 1st and I decided to do a tiny bit of cleaning today. I found this book, which had been given to me for Christmas, and decided I might as well read it. There were a few humorous lines from this little book, but I found myself rushing simply to get it over with. Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid.

Laugh out loud funny. Garner takes Dickens Christmas Carol and creates a politically correct version for the modern reader. If you don't laugh at this book, no don't have a sense of humor.

This book is all right, but not the most rewarding thing I've ever read. A couple of changes struck me as a bit funny, but, as far as comedy goes, it could have been pushed a bit harder.

While not a very long book, it doesn't have as much punch to it as I think the bedtime stories one does. I also didn't care for the spellings of "womyn", "wommon" and "persuns" - it just wasn't necessary to have such archaic spellings when, in the same stories, they made entirely modern jokes and referred to twenty year old Volvos.

I think the retelling of Rudolph was the most successful of the stories, and while not funny exactly, it was a great interpretation.

Okay, so I realize it's supposed to poke fun at political correctness as a whole. But I found it so hard to remember that it was joke in some parts and I kept being a little offended at how PC it was. I enjoyed Garner's other books much better.

- humorously updated Yuletide stories that rekindle the true holiday spirit while redefining the idea of 'goodwill to all men' to include womyn; pre-adults, and companion-animals as well
- chapters include "Frosty, The Persun Of Snow" and "Twas The Night Before Solstice"
- my personal favourite was "Rudolph The Nasally Empowered Reindeer" (he ends up forming a Union)
