Regency fiction tends to be a hit-or-miss for me. Writing-wise, the story was lovely. Unfortunately, many of the tropes weren’t my cup of tea, including forbidden love, a love triangle, and the whole lying to keep appearances ordeal. I look forward to reading more from the author though!

Very cute Christmas story. Edmund is a little older and wiser than Selina and tries to stop her engagement to a fortune-hunter, losing his heart in the process. Great beginning to the Belles of Christmas series!

This was a sweet Christmas book. The plot and romance development felt a little simplistic and rushed, but it was a short book so I'm not surprised. The ending was cute. It wasn't my favorite book ever but it got me in a Christmas-y mood, which is what I hoped for.

His plan had been to teach her what love meant, not to experience anything like it himself. What a mess he was making. -Edmund

This is book 1 in the series and despite reading them out of order I had no problem following along. I will say having read 2 others, it would be fun to read in order and spot the Easter eggs from other books!

This is a very sweet romance full of Christmas spirit. Edmund steals the story for me as he tries his best to help Selina see everything she stubbornly tries not to see or admit. I enjoyed this regency romance and it was the perfect way to spend a couple nights wrapped in a blanket! The writing flowed so well and made this a very easy, enjoyable read! Anyone who loves a Regency Christmas Clean Romance will love this book!

I vaguely remember hearing about the Thames freezing over a couple of times but had not known about the Frost Fair. What a fun and interesting thing to spark a series! I love this premise.
Selina is in love with the idea of love. She is convinced that she's found the man for her but hides their relationship from her mother. After making plans to elope, she unexpectedly runs into Edmund, a man who she knew from childhood. As the holidays progress she begins to question her feelings.
While this is not my favorite read by Ashtyn, it is awfully sweet. She incorporates plenty of details to captivate my interest. I wanted just a bit more emotion from Selina and Edmund.
I received a copy from the author. All thoughts in this review are my own.
