Black Boy Joy is a book about and for our black boys. I start reading this with my eleven-year-old son and he really enjoyed Fort Jones. The stories in the book I can relate to. They were really realistic, serious, and funny. I laughed, cried, and emphasized some of the stories. Please go and get your copy today! I recommend this book to young black males and their guardians. This book is a great conversational piece. I give this book five stars.

Anthologies are usually hard to review, because there are may be stories that are superb, and others that you can barely make it through. However that wasn’t the case for this one. While I know I’m not the key demographic - being an adult, white, female - I still found this collection absolutely wonderful. To title it with the word Joy was so fitting, each story tug on your heart strings in some way and the genres were spread out. Fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, realistic stories. I enjoyed each one. I listened to it as an audiobook as well and also loved the narrators! If you’re looking for a quick read that puts a smile on your face - here’s one for sure.

I usually don't enjoy anthologies because they leave me wanting more. This collection though was MAGNIFICENT.
Every story had me smiling, a few crying from love. This book is so wonderful. Little snippets of contemporary and fantasy and sci-fi. Love, family, friendship all through out.  The narrators did a spectacular job.
Cannot recommend this enough.
