Such a great read! This book and the one before it (Her Mother's Hope) tell the story of 5 generations of women in one family. It's a story of faith and strength and redemption, and I loved it!
Loved this series. Believable characters and a story that grabs you from the beginning.
Started off good but got a bit"draggy" and the ending was boring. The epilogue was boring.

This duology is my all-time favorite. Francine Rivers is a master at showing how the wounds in our childhood impact our future attitudes and behaviors, and that theme is strong and clear in these books. Keep tissues close at hand.
This book disappointed me mainly because I wanted to see reconciliation between the mother and daughter.

As others have mentioned, the book does have quite a few suggestive scenes in it, but they aren’t super graphic. It’s enough to make you feel like you are there with them, inside their mind while the different things are happening, but not enough to make me immediately stop reading. Suggestive, not graphic. I would still only rate this as adult content just because of the nature of the content being within sexual and child abuse and cases of r*pe and drug abuse. I cried every other page it seemed like and went through every emotion with these characters. Definitely will read again. It made me rethink the way I treat my family and how easy it is for dysfunction and isolation to happen within a family structure and how generational curses and dysfunction form.
