There were moments I appreciated and I understood the coming-of-age movements of the poems. Towards the end of the collection, with moments where the poet acknowledged a familial history of protest and politics, I thought the energy suddenly picked up. Chambers is clearly talented, though I found this collection hit the same note a lot.
