Definitely worth a read!

Although initially I found this book a slow burner, I was gripped with the story about the two sisters and their past. Lots of secrets and twists and turns.

The only part that really didn’t interest me was that if the character Geoffrey Heath. I personally feel like it didn’t add anything to the story.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for allowing me to read this book ahead of publication for a review.

The only likeable character was Brinley. The political story line was pointless and had no relevance to the story other than the fact he said Sara should have been put to death?
There was so much miscommunication.
We got a brief explanation on why parents were abusive which was the father had a hard up bringing? That was it, no reason for the mother.
It lacked the thriller aspect for me, very predictable.
Also found it weird that the politicians mistress and Catherine's daughter had the same name?

I’ve been bitten lately by a rut of not so awesome picks when it’s come to books, so when this one opened like it was in the middle of the story with no warning I was concerned.

I needed have worried, by the time I devoured this book I didn’t think the author could have any more tricks up her sleeve but then BAM that ending I was a little floored.

This story depicts in horrifying but true detail some of the worst of human behaviour and what it feels like to do something terrible to survive. I enjoyed the ride and it was indeed a ride. Back and forth in timeline and different perspectives which I always enjoy. I also really like going back to the “beginning” for some characters and the author did a great job of that.

This book won’t be for everyone it could be triggering for some but maybe it’s just a bit all over the shop for others, for me though I loved it. Really loved it. I am going away now to see what else I can dig up from this author because this was my first interlude and I haven’t been disappointed.

Fiona Cummins does it again. I have loved every book she has written and this was no different.
