If you want to read a smutty book go for it.

If you want a romance with smut I wouldnt recommend it.

The actions of the Main charcters made no sense.

I found both equally annoying.

Well that wasn't what I expected

“You’re exactly his type. You need to stay as far from Brad De Luca as you can get.”

“Then why would you limit yourself? Why require that love be attached to the act? There is no sense in living a dry, sexless existence while you wait the years it could take to find your next love,' in the meantime missing out on some of your peak sexual years." I opened my mouth to object, but he plowed on. "Most people don't truly ever fall in love. As you admitted yourself, your first two loves probably weren't loves' at all. If you follow the love before sex' thought pro-cess, you will probably just get sexually frustrated and convince yourself that you love someone simply so you'll allow yourself to sleep with him, which will only end in an unnecessarily long relationship that will end with someone getting hurt.” That was quite a speech. "Look, for you sex might be a sexual release, but I don't function the same way. Sex for me is more of an emotional thing, not anything that I need."
"Bullshit. Everyone needs sex."
"That is a man talking. You have a need to release your.. stuff. We don't operate that way, or at least I don't. Like I said, it's emotional, not physical."
"You make love, but don't fuck." The expletive sounded dangerous and incredibly sexy in his voice.
"No. I fuck. I just do it more for the control aspect rather than the physical." This was the most honest conversation I had ever had with anyone I was revealing all my secrets.
There was a certain freedom in knowing that this was the last time I would see him, and that nothing I said could be used against me.
His eyes narrowed, a flash of understanding in them.

I didn't know how I felt about Brad. Half the time he pissed me off with his arrogance and sexual misdoings, and the rest of the time I wanted to shove him down and rip his clothes off. I was used to being the aggressor, to being in control of the relationship. That wasn't going to be possible with Brad.
But then again, a relationship wasn't a possibility anyway.
Having only had sex with two guys, the prospect of Brad being the third scared me. What did it say about me if I had sex with someone that I sometimes didn't even like, much less love? What had been the point of my waiting until I was nineteen for sex if I was just going to jump into bed with strangers now?

"So that's the big thing. You're a swinger."
He winced, making a face, then nodded. "Yes, though I'm not crazy about the word. And my girlfriend, or soul mate, or wife, would need to be part of that lifestyle, as well. It is the only way I know that I will stay committed."
"So it's a nonnegotiable?"
"Yes."

The statement made my jaw drop, and he grinned at my face, his expression turning quickly hungry, and he grabbed me suddenly, his strong arms wrapping around my back, bringing me down to his hard chest, the smell of masculine clean hitting my nose. His words, delicious and deep in my ear, whispering of dark buried fantasies of twisted depraved actions, images flooding me that I had never allowed in, his words making them possible, probable, holyfuckIwant-itrightnow desirable.
My orgasm came quickly, barreling down like a runaway train, out of control and unstoppable. I could think of nothing, knew of no one, but the animalistic fucking that I was enjoying. It was raw, untamed and hot as ever-living hell.

God, I am a glutton for punishment.

I've got to say I think this author is moving up to my Auto Buy list! Another great story. So far this story is very different from her other books, to me anyway. I'm always expecting a "OMG I didn't see that coming" ending but this one was different. I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I did feel like Julia changed a little too much from the beginning to the end of this book. I love where it is headed but would have probably loved it more if she would have needed more convincing. The narration was excellent and I can't wait to start book 2!

Blindfolded Innocence is comparable to one, long, delicious tease that delivers on its promise.

I’m delighted that I’ve finally been introduced to Brad and Julia. I loved getting to know them and watching them come together (perhaps pun intended). It was a great read and I can’t wait to continue their story.

I typically like Torre's writing style, and this book had some fun moments which is why it's not rated lower. I didn't realize until now that it was a debut novel, and that makes sense. I've read others by her that I liked more.

Usually, I liked Brad and was meh about Julia. I hated them a lot throughout the book, though, and not in that "oh, they're tortured and can't help their flaws" way, but more in a "he's a disrespectful jackass and she's a judgmental hypocrite" way. While I appreciate that they learn and grow from each other, it doesn't come across as genuine for Julia's character. She is so quick to call out the sexual behaviors of others as "slutty" or "deviant", but as soon as she sees the hottest guy she's ever seen, she melts like butter.

Now, Brad. I don't love the pressure and persistence after Julia told him no, and that he knows how important the internship is to her but doesn't give af about the fact that being seen with him could easily cause her to lose it, which is his fault in the first place for  fucking interns, clients, and, oh, yeah...Broward's wife . It's a tale as old as time: Man in power propositions woman that works under him.

It's also strange that there wasn't really any lead up to the end scene throughout the rest of the book other than these "rules" at the beginning of chapters that had literally nothing to do with the chapter itself. I was wondering why the book is titled Blindfolded Innocence until about the last 5-10 pages. Those last 5-10 pages needed at least a few chapters of buildup IMHO, because we went from 1 to 100 in a very short time. This book did not tie up any loose ends, so you have to read the next one to figure out what, if any, implications or consequences there are to the MCs' lives.

I liked the supporting characters. Becca is the rich, but still chill, sex positive, supportive friend, and Olivia is the very rational, responsibly supportive one. I've forgotten the older woman's name they visit in Boulder, but she was fun too. They're a good balance. Ngl though, I loved the whole time Brad and Julia were in Vegas, especially when they went to Saffire [sp?] and Boulder. I forgot the one girl's name he fucks in the club office (which is yet another abuse of his power) , but I was here for the Montana scene. That could have been 1/3 of the book, and I'd have been all for it.

Overall, there were parts I liked, but the balance shifts more to what I didn't like. I'll probably pick up the next one at some point to see how it's going with these characters.

Holy HAWT!! Seriously the sexual tension throughout the book was hot to start with but the sex was what sealed the deal for me!!
Julia has had enough of relationships, for now at least, she has more important things to worry about like her internship at an important law firm. With the hopes of learning all she can at this internship and securing a great reference if not a job she gets more than that when she meets Brad DeLucca, hot shot divorce attorney, man whore who sleeps with the divorcee clients he has and a few interns.
The sexual tension between them is off the charts and you don't know if it's because the attorney she is working with warned her off him or if it's purely animalistic attraction. One weekend in Vegas was all it was supposed to be but Brad seems to be drawn to her for some reason.
The arrangement is made and the deal is on the table if she accepts it can open her eyes to all the things she never knew she wanted. If she says no where does that leave them?
I actually read this book when it was release in 2012 and was really impressed, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have... Go forth and one-click it!

Freaking Amazing!! It was hot and sexy in all the right places. I can't wait for the next book to see if Julia can handle Brad's lifestyle!! Should also be fun to see how far and what he gets her to do ;)

2nd reading -June 21, 2014

Still freaking amazing and so the not the story I remembered!! I do realize why I loved it so much, Julia is smart, sassy, sexy, and strong in character and I love a strong female lead! And Brad oh is he an enigma! Domineering, sexy, alpha-male to the bone with this secret side that keeps you guessing. Super excited to read the entire series as a whole.

I read this because the characters make an appearance in 'Hollywood Dirt' which I loved and I liked the dynamic. However, I really didn't like this book. I didn't like their 'romance' at all.
