This book was surprisingly funnier than I expected.

Frustrating, but hilarious. And rather sexy.

I’ve read a few of Rosa’s books, mostly when I’m craving a light (but steamy) billionaire romance. So, I can honestly say that the writing in this novel was noticeably wittier, the characterisation was stronger, and it was quite the level-up from her previous works.

Nice job, Rosa.

You’ll enjoy this if you’re a fan of: billionaire romance (obvs), easy-to-read rom-coms, British humour, inter-class drama, best friend’s brother trope, sassy heroines, witty banter, slapstick humour, awkward situations, a bit of cheese, and mid-level spice.

This book was such a wild ride and I loved every second of it. I didn’t know what to expect going into it as this was my first Rosa Lucas novel, but boy it did not disappoint! She had me chuckling under my breath over and over again and laughing out loud more times than I can count. Not only was the banter between the two main characters exceptional, the sarcasm and wit of the FMC was unmatched. This was the most fun I’ve had reading a book in a long time and I look forward to immediately jumping into some of the author’s other works.

Thank you to Rosa Lucas and BookFunnel for a free arc in exchange for my honest review.

𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐲 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐬𝐨𝐧 is a total hot mess. She reminds me of the iconic Bridget Jones with her good-hearted intentions always leading her into the worst predicaments. Like the time she got caught in a compromising situation by her best friend's older brother, only to realize she was actually with his much younger nephew.

𝐄𝐝𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐡 has known Daisy since she was a kid, growing up alongside his younger sister. They come from completely different worlds. He’s British Elite and she’s not. Now Daisy has blossomed into a stunning woman who turns heads wherever she goes, including Edward's. As a widower, he's hesitant to pursue someone so much younger, but Daisy occupies his every thought. The feeling is mutual, as Daisy finds herself drawn to him as well.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 story centers around a wedding, with Daisy as the maid of honor. She definitely steals the show as a quirky lovable character in need of more self-confidence. Edward is the perfect gentleman, but their lack of communication about their feelings and expectations is their downfall. Despite their differences and misunderstandings, Daisy and Edward complement each other perfectly, filling the void in each other's lives. They seem to be a perfect match.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 novel is so engaging and difficult to put down. If you enjoy family drama and age-gap romance, this book is a must-read!
