This just felt like it was trying very hard to be quirky and different, a bit too hard. The ending also just felt a bit too easy and all the conflicts just got instantly resolved. It was,however, a light read and enjoyable in the moment.
This is the sequel to the Descendant movie. Mal, Jay, Evie, and Carlos have adjusted to life in Auradon, but when their parents suddenly go missing they return to the Isle of the Lost.
This book takes place a few days after the film. The villain kids have adjusted to life in Auradon, King Ben wants to allow more Isle kids into the school. But when a dragon is seen attacking different kingdoms, Ben has to re-evaluate the kingdom’s stand on magic and find out who is behind the attacks.
I think I enjoyed this book more than the first one. There was still the strong platonic friendship between all the characters. This has to be my favorite aspect of the series. Mal, Jay, Evie and Carlos are just so supportive of one another, they see themselves as friends and sibling.
Another big theme of this book confronting one’s fear. These kids believe they are going to be just like their parents. They had to complete impossible task and they found so much inner strength to accomplish that.
I give this book a B-. This book had so many more cameos of popular and somewhat forgotten Disney villains. I hope we continue to have more books and movies.

Dull and boring. I knew it would be a more of a childbook but it was really dull

Qué mejora en comparación con el otro libro caray.
En cuanto me pongo a leer estos libros yo ya voy con una mentalidad diferente: estos no son los personajes de las películas. Así de siemple. Nada más lo veo como un anexo a una de mis series favoritas de la vida y creo que eso me ha ayudado a poder disfrutar de estos libros mucho más.
Este en especial se siente como un capítulo extra de la vida de nustros protagonistas. Podemos ver más del día a día en Auradon, cosa que me encantó, y los seguimos en una misión bastante entretenida. Vemos a más alumnos de la escuela, como Freddy y Jordan (que son los que salen en Descendants: Wicked World) y vemos a nuestros protas vivir como los descendientes de los peores villanos que hay.
Como novela middle grade me pareció excelente. Tiene acción de inicio a fin y en ningun momento hay un capítulo o segmento tedioso. Está lleno de magia y aventuras, justo lo que les gusta a los niños. Pero como parte de la franquicia de Descendientes me pareció X. Nada de lo que sucede en este libro tiene relevancia alguna para las peliculas pero aun así lo disfrute.
Estoy muy feliz de que este segundo me haya gustado más que el anterior y ya me pondré con el tercero.

Very good. It is a quick read when you're not reading a million and one books at the same time. :)
