This was definitely a book. Some men can write women - not this man, though. The suspense wasn’t built up well enough for me and a lot of the characters fell a little bit flat. However, the concept was interesting, and that’s what kept me reading to the end. Overall, reading this book was a net neutral for me — I wouldn’t recommend this book, but I also wouldn’t recommend against reading it.

Men writing women characters is always so weird. I heard so many good things about this book but I just didn't vibe with it. I’m over half way through and there’s barely anything that can even be spooky.
