Little Fires Everywhere starts with a gripping premise a suburban family’s house goes up in flames and promises drama, secrets, and social commentary. But unfortunately, the execution doesn’t quite live up to the hype. The novel spends a lot of time on small town details and moral contrasts that feel a bit too neat and predictable. Characters like Elena and Mia are portrayed in stark opposites, sometimes feeling more like symbols than real people.
The pacing slows down in the middle, with too much telling and not enough showing. And the custody trial, one of the main conflicts, feels rushed and overly tidy. The emotional beats are there, but they’re often telegraphed so far in advance that the “twists” don’t land as hard as they should.
The story was too neatly done too predictable and easy to be executed. There was no real thrill for me and it was very unrealistic. There was no space of thinking for thrill and twist either. I felt bored too :/

I loved the show and loved the book! This is one instance where I can say that the show accurately reflected the book and did it justice! I absolutely loved the show so when I finally got around to reading the book I was so captivated and it almost felt cozy because I already knew the story but it was like hearing it from a different perspective. 10/10 definitely would recommend!!
