My low expectations going in (based on another book by the same author) were not warranted. I was advised to give this book a try and I'm glad I did. This fake dating story in which a dare turns into a genuine connection is adorable and heartfelt while also touching on some tough family topics. I enjoyed this quite a bit. Also, loving the maybe demisexual/romantic rep.
Graphic: Bullying, Homophobia, Panic attacks/disorders, Racism, Outing, and Abandonment

This book reminded me of "Simon vs. the homo sapiens agenda". Especially the theatre aspects were familiar.
