While I think this book would benefit from a couple of rereads and a decent knowledge of Catholicism, things I do not possess, I also think this book was brilliant. I probably will reread it. I did not particularly care for the plot or characters, but the writing was beautiful and I enjoyed the philosophy. 

"No one mocks God more than God mocked himself when he created man in his own image. Can you look at me and tell me, 'This is how God looks?'"
