The Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda is an intricately plotted and ambitious story. Black Panther volume 6 begins with T’Challa lost and enslaved in distant space, with no memory of his life on Earth. While he doesn’t remember who he is, he still acts like the T’Challa we all know. He revolts against his captors, which leads to rebel leaders noticing him, rescuing him, and recruiting him to their cause. He becomes a crucial player in their fight against the emperor of the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda. Volume 6 is an action packed introduction to this story arc. It’s exciting and mysterious, and I love it because it combines two of my favourite things—science fiction and Black Panther.

I liked this graphic novel. It was ok.

This takes T'Challa into space. In this he is in a different planet and galaxy and him trying to adjust to this new way of living. Here he doesn't know his past or how he got to this new Wakanda galaxy.

It was an interesting story. I liked how this was in space.

I was a bit confused as to how this continued where the other volume left off and where this one started. It took me a bit to get used to the way that this story was going to go. It was a bit hard to follow at first for me but I did enjoy learning more about how this is going to go.

It was a bit confusing at first but I did start to enjoy it the more I read.

Overall this was an ok story and I do want to see what Ta- Nehisi goes with this story.

Terrifically imagined and executed. Coates is on a different level and stories like this prove it. It's a space opera, a mythological legend and a comic book all executed perfectly.

I am so onboard with this storyline and think it represents a real jump up in Coates' run. Intergalactic reboots with oppressors and Venom-like aliens and so very much space drama? Yes please.

The Wakandan Empire, like all empires, is counterfeit.

I love this weird comic a lot -- though the action is hard to follow, Daniel Acuña creates such amazing /faces/ that I'm inclined to forgive a lot. Too often superhero dudes are all indistinguishable squinty chins.

Ta-Nehisi Coates is clearly working through some things here and I can't wait to watch it laboriously unfold.
