Extremely disappointed.  I had expected much more than the movies. There were 2. 1st one was the best.

I want to read Silence of the Lambs so I put in the work and read this but was sooooo bored. The writing was not great. It was very choppy and there was waaaay too much telling. I’ve heard the writing greatly improves in Silence of the Lambs so I’m hoping that rings true.

I wish I could give this 4.5, because while it’s a great read I definitely preferred Silence of the Lambs. I feel like the characters are slightly less relatable and it’s hard to connect with Will Graham who keeps himself cut off emotionally from everyone. The portions with the Red Dragon are much more engaging because we get his backstory and the personal struggles he’s going through becoming this new being. It’s interesting to see how Graham begins to connect the dots but a lot of it feels like luck. I was surprised that Lecter wasn’t in it as much as I thought!

Picked this up because I was watching the music video for Meatloaf’s “I would do anything for love” and the police detective in glasses reminded me of a young Jack Crawford.

Great crime thriller. I had to pause and collect myself at multiple points and even ended up reading the plot on Wikipedia because I needed to know what happens to a particular character.

Will Graham is so babygirl. Dolarhyde is TERRIFYING.

I felt like this book focused more on the villain than Silence of the Lambs did.

I’m scheduled to be induced on Sunday and I’ve been trying to kill time, so husband and I watched both the 1980s and the 2002 movie adaptations this weekend.
