I've been wanting to read this book for a while but never picked it up. I enjoyed this one and I'm upset that I took this long to read it. I can't wait to keep going with the series.

This book was sooo....creepy, there's no other word for it, just creepy. There wasn't much context of the past for this book, but I think it could have helped my understanding of what was going on. It's like I didn't really understand why Hannibal was such an important person. Hannibal Lecter was not a main character in this book.

All in all, the story put together kept my attention.

Quite the enjoyable dark little story. Those paintings are pretty cool. Overall it was a nice companion to my watch of Hannibal.

Thrilling! Can’t wait to read the others

i really had to push through with this one (at times). i love love love the entire hannibal franchise; fell in love with it when i first saw silence of the lambs at 15. what i really loved about this book was the complexity and trauma of dolarhyde‘s character (i found myself sympathizing with him at several points but we‘re just. not gonna acknowledge that rn lmao (bc he’s a literal MURDERER)). especially his inner conflict once he met and fell in love with reba absolutely captivated me. i really was rooting for them (kinda? i mean, realistically speaking it could’ve never worked (bc he’s a murderer and necrophiliac). but a girl can dream, right? (right??)) i just wish they could’ve met in a different life where he hadn’t done all of these things. guess that’s just the hopeless romantic in me.
