A murder mystery story in space that is a prequel to the Murderbot series. I liked it but it ended really abruptly. Also, I feel like I have even MORE questions of the backstory and the Corporation Rim than I did before reading this.

This is a small story that builds on the Murderbot universe long before those stories began. It is darker and more gorey than those stories.

This collection includes a prequel story of sorts in the Murderbot universe from Martha Wells. It is called Obsolescence. This review is only for that story. So if you didn't know, now you do.
It's a murder-mystery story set on a space station, which is already hook enough. Getting more backstory and context for the Murderbot universe, that's just a nice bonus.
The biggest drawback is that the reader isn't experiencing this through Murderbot's POV. Still, it's worth the short time investment.
