When I was younger I would always read inkheart but never read any of the other books in the series. Now, I am glad I finally got around and read the second book. I was crying on the plane while I was in the middle seat between a stranger and my mom. Excited to read inkdeath and the newly released English version of inkworld.

Huh this book wasn't what I expected. At some points it felt like there were too many plot lines. which took focus away from the more interesting plots in my opinion. But the book seemed to have a more grown up feel since the characters are growing up. It was a weird mixture of this shouldn't work but it does. I definitely wasn't expecting the ending because Dustfinger was my favorite character, but it made me interested enough to see what Funke would do in the third book.
