Where do I even begin. This story (and series) was just so good. Amazing even. My heart hurt a lot during this story, for Ethan and Blair. All they went through but they still stayed right by each other till the end. This story also made me tear up a lot because some of it hit close to home with my dad dying of pneumonia/cancer. I just really loved this story and the ending was perfect. That speech was amazing too.
Thank the heavens!!!!! I can finally breath! 2 times, no on more the 2 occasions my heart stopped! I'm so glad that Ethan and Blair pulled through! Loved this series, brilliant quick read with throughly likeable characters and beautiful and emotional story! Though I could do another book for the two love birds. I feel like there is more to their story and they have more to share with us. HINT HINT ELLE BROOKS ;)
Elle Brooks just about gave me a heart attack with the prologue of Forgotten Promises. I was sitting there reading in horror, saying no no no! You can’t do this to me in the first few sentences.
I kept going.
I just jumped right into that didn’t I? Let me backtrack a bit. I absolutely loved Promises Hurt. It was an amazing read and I have been waiting and waiting and waiting (yes, patience is not my best virtue and a week feels like forever when I’m anticipating something) for Forgotten Promises to release.
I jumped right into Forgotten Promises when Elle sent it over, shoving a couple of books off the top of my must read list, and got going. I wanted to know what was going to happen to Blair and Ethan after we left them in Promises Hurt. I didn’t want to see this couple go through any more pain.
I don’t feel like I can even go into the story line, saying I liked this or that because there is so much in there that you won’t get from the synopsis.
I am just going to say this was an absolutely amazing read, totally worth the weight, and is a perfect example of why Elle Brooks is on my favorite author list. Strongly written characters and even though some of them are in high school still, they don’t feel immature at all. Especially Blair. Blair has gone through a horrible loss that I think makes her wise beyond her years. Honestly I think she was already wise before going through Emily’s treatment and then her passing, I think that made her grow up a little quicker though.
Filled with beautiful story telling, I think both Promises Hurt and Forgotten Promises would be the perfect books for anyone who loves coming of age stories. I’m saying it again, amazing. I loved it.
5 stars.
Thank you so much for my copy of Forgotten Promises!

Thank you so much for my copy of Forgotten Promises!

Holy weeping tears of sadness and happiness Batman! I'm totally bawling. Forgotten Promises is honestly one of the best books I have EVER read. The talent of Ms. Brooks truly awes me and inspires me. So poignant and full of meaning, her stories just touch deep, way down to my heart. She brings it all: humor, sexiness, seriousness, goofiness, light-heartedness, heartbreak, and growth. If you're looking for an all-around fabulous story, you've found it. Amazing. Truly amazing.
The story of Blair and Ethan is one I won't forget anytime soon and one I will revisit again and again. Promises Hurt and Forgotten Promises have both found their places on my Favorites shelf.

*Please note: You should have read book 1, Promises Hurt, already. This is a continuation of the same story and might contain spoilers for that book. Also a slight spoiler for this story is below, but it is something you do find out pretty quick. Just wanted to warn people in case you want to go in blind like I did. *
Forgotten Promises was a great read. The first book was cute, and once I started this one and realized what was going on I thought this could be iffy, this could be not so good, but in reality I loved it more than the first one. Blaire and Ethan are so great together. This story just really reinforced that and oh they were so sweet.
The last book ended with Blair, Ethan, and Ethan's dad in a car accident. Ethan's dad had picked the two of them up from jail and was driving them home when he started in on Ethan. Only this time Ethan wouldn't just sit there and take it. He couldn't deal with his dad saying mean things about Blair. He loves her. He would do anything for her. It was really crazy as it just ended and you didn't know what happened to anyone.
This book picks up right where that left off with everyone in the hospital. Oh it was a bit heartbreaking seeing the injuries everyone sustained. Blaire is so strong in this story. She tries and tries to do the right thing, but people keep putting her in bad situations. People keep trying to make her promise not to tell people things and she doesn't like it. It was a bit stressful at times, but she really is a sweetheart.
And Ethan? Oh I loved reading him in this story. Even more than in book one. He has a lot going on. He is not really sure what happened or even who Blair is. Oh, he killed me! Through the story you can really see how strong of a connection these two have. Even though he doesn't remember her, he wants to be near her. He wants to be with her. He knows that she is something special and that he is incredibly lucky to have found her. Oh it was cute.
So there are a lot of bumps in the road in this chapter of their story. With the accident and everything that happens, everything with Ethan's dad and the secrets his mom tries to make Blaire keep, with Ethan slowly remembering things, it is not smooth sailing. But these two cannot stay apart. They are just too cute together. I loved this story. It was even better than the first book and I can't wait to read more from the author.
