La mitad del libro fui yo intentando entender qué onda con el juego y el deporte, la otra mitad fui yo enamorado de Jack.

At first I had my doubts about this story. Viola is prickly and kinda mean. Jack (Duke) is a jock with a jock attitude. There are video games and quest games, and I just didn't know if I could get into this story. Turns out, I can because behind all of it is a story about people trying to find their way, telling themselves they are one thing when they actually contain multitudes.

This was such a good mix of cute and fun while also dealing with a lot of complex emotions! I love a good retelling and I might be biased because I love She’s the Man but Twelfth Night is one of the most fun to reimagine! The rpf gaming aspect was such an interesting way to bring in the false identity aspect of the story! Most Twelfth Night retellings have someone disguising themselves as the opposite gender physically so it was fun to see a different and more modern take on that trope through the online gaming! I also loved how Viola & Jack’s relationship progressed throughout the book! It was a perfect slow burn of annoyance to putting up with each other to enjoying spending time together to friends to more! The book had great side characters as well with Bash & Olivia & Antonia, etc and I loved seeing how those relationships with both Viola & Duke progressed as well!

The banter she has with her brother is everything. Especially the talk they have after she learns about Olivia's sexuality. The narrator during that part is so good.

I don't really think I know what I was thinking when I read this. I liked the cover. I loved the main characters they both had some really witty banter and thought they felt like real people. The ending is honestly not exactly what I was expecting. Predictible direction but the actual resolution was different than I have read. It felt more realistic.

I actually hated Viola at first, but then she got so funny. I loved the romance between her and Jack. They hated each other, but then fell in love. They actually understood each other and their respective interests.

If you are someone who loves football and inderstands the game, this books descriptions might not make all that much sense. But I am not someone who understands anything about the sport (my husband is that someone) so it felt believable to me.
