It was a re-read for me. I had first read it 3-4 years ago. I decided to re-read it for the nostalgia since I loved it so much when I was younger. What I didn't expect was to enjoy it just as much, if not more. The characters are great, well-written and fun, Monty has a serious character development and seeing him evolve was so cool. The plot of the story is captivating, and it's quite an adventure. Our trio makes such a nice team and seeing them together, with their differences and relationships is amazing.
Overall super cool book, I would recommend it to anyone interested in a fun adventurous story occurring in XVIIIth century Europe, with some stakes (but not too high). It's an overall lighthearted read which can be read fast but will still touch your heart because of the characters and their personalities.

I liked the premise of the book. I especially enjoyed how much research the author put in to telling the story. At times the story dragged and felt like it was repeating itself. Overall an enjoyable and mostly lighthearted read

I actually borrowed the audiobook accidentally and decided to listen since I had it. Despite the unintentional nature of picking this book, I did enjoy it!

Throughout the book, Monty reminds you with distressing frequency that he’s a spoiled brat though he starts showing his redeeming features the further you go.

At no point did I predict the next odd assortment of people they would meet as quirky characters seemed to pop out of the woodwork around them.

I was pretty far along in the book when I realized that there are sequels and I look forward to checking them out to learn more about some of the other characters beyond Monty. Percy continued to be my favorite throughout the book and Felicity crept up there as well.

This book really surprised me, for the better. It’s a cute, queer historical fiction adventure novel that focuses on Monty’s Grand Tour and the subsequent quests that follow. I absolutely loved it: it’s heart-warming, doesn’t read as a YA novel, and is a wonderful read for people in a slump. I’m obsessed with this cast of characters that Lee has created and I can’t wait to read the next books

So much more than a romp accross Europe with forbidden love the goal. I loved this book start ro finish. It's ridiculous and awkward and it ends perfectly.

Monty, the main character, is a horny, drunk, selfish fop for a good 90% of the book, and the thinly developed adventure plot isn't enough to distract from how much of an ass he is. His redemption arc is far too little and far too late to make this book worthwhile.
