I enjoyed the second book a lot. It was fun seeing her get strong, confident, taking her power and using it. Honestly, loved Zane. Wish there was more of him and less of his brother. It was interesting seeing the aftermath of taking a kingdom and the struggle to hold it. I really enjoyed her friendship with her dog companion.

LOVED that Sanderson turned 2 common fantasy tropes on their head (the chosen one & becoming all-powerful). Sazed having to challenge his belief system to correctly interpret the prophecy was very compelling. Getting to know the Koloss and Kandra was also fun. Who doesn't want a wolfhound sidekick?
I wish we'd gotten more world-building when it comes to the Lords so that they felt less interchangeable. I was hoping for GoT levels of house rivalries with different regional flavours. I also missed some of the camaraderie and moments of levity that book 1 included.
However, this was still a fantasy powerhouse that I inhaled and had a lot of fun reading.
