So good. This series makes it EASILY into my top 3 favourite romance books. Theres ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that I didnt like about this book (except it ended too early, I'm never ready to let these characters stories end) READ IT

Edit: I have absolutely zero recollection of reading this book and it is SO far out of my regular taste in reading lmao WHAT?

I'm on the fence between 3 and 4 stars with Law of Attraction, so let's just call it a solid 3.5 from me. In general, I'm a fan of Alison Bliss' books, so this story won't deter me from trying future books. Hopefully those will be more to my liking.

Here's what did and didn't work for me:

Works for me: I loved that the heroine is a protective and loving mom with a strong sense of community support.
Doesn't work for me: She has a great group of friends, but "her guys" (as she refers to them) tend to put me off a little bit with their "have to protect the little woman" attitudes. I get it, they're a protective bunch, but given that up to this point they've found their own matches with equally strong women, I'd have expected to see a little less of the caveman attitudes. Now, let the gals get on board the "pissed off train" heading in the direction of the heroine's ex and I'd have been completely on board! Some of my favorite scenes were the ones when our heroine was talking with her female friend. Laugh out loud moments! I'd have loved more of that!
Works for me: The chemistry between our hero & heroine.
Doesn't work for me: The sex scenes became redundant at a certain point in the book. I skimmed pages, then told myself I had to go back and read them so I could review the book honestly. I don't normally skip sexy scenes. These just felt more like graphic page filler to me than moments that moved the story along emotionally. I'm not saying all of the scenes were like this, but I can honestly say that only two of the scenes stood out in my mind as important to the story.
Works for me: Heroine comes across as an independent woman in the early parts of the book.
Didn't work for me: She changed her tune half way through the book and was suddenly angry that the hero hadn't kept up with her because she developed feelings. Not cool, lady. You said sex with no strings. You can't be mad when that was your idea all along!
Works for me: The plot was interesting, what with the jerk ex fighting her for custody. Add in the part at the end that pertains to the hero's past and...Hello, I perked up! We suddenly entered romantic suspense territory and I was HAPPY!
Didn't work for me: WTH...Nope, can't have the threat of big & bad hurting heroine and her kid, get the reader all worked up, and then be like,
**********************************SPOILER ALERT*******************************

"Big & bad jumped on a plane and left town." What the ever lovin? Now she's mad because they were at risk because of the hero's past, even though he told her that his past (which he'd explained by this point) was the reason he didn't want strings to begin with. He told her he didn't want to put her or her child at risk and she was all, "I want you. It will all be okay." Then bad crap happens and she's all "Get outta' my house. You didn't tell me there was a threat." Errrrrggggghhhhh.

The epilogue was nice, but it just wasn't enough to pull the book up to a four star for this reader. There were too many moments I was completely invested, and then it was sorta' like the helium was let out of the balloon. Not my favorite of the series, but worth (given the good points) a solid 3.5 stars.

This is the third book in the Tangled in Texas series and it can be read as a stand-alone [I haven't read book 1 and 2 yet either for example]. I was lucky enough to receive an e-arc in exchange for writing an honest review.
---
This is a story about a single mom who works her but off and tries to give her son a peaceful upbringing and trying to make him as happy as can be. She's trying to overcome hurdles you'd come to expect in certain situations [like her son's biological father being a first-class Ahole] and I think the author did a great job at writing this story since there is definitely some moments present that surprised me, whereas story-lines like these normally are quite predictable. It was the characters, Bobbie Jo in particular, that made quite a positive impression on me. There was a palpable angst throughout the whole book, while it also remained light-hearted at times, humoristic and extremely sexy.

I loved Bobbie's feistiness and her momma-bear-protective streak. I loved the balanced out character the author shows us in Bobbie. She's a great mom but I also love that she's willing to think about herself as well every now and then. She's strong and isn't scared to fight for what she wants and the people she loves <- so much respect for her!

And then there's Seth, a sexy alpha male, who's always there for Bobbie in the short time he's been living in her house [I had NO trouble whatsoever loving his character hehe] He's great with Austin, her son, and I love how fast these three characters seemed to be forming a little family on their own. It was adorable! I was just as enamored with Seth as Bobbie was and just as curious to find out more about his past. There's this palpable feeling hanging around Seth, that just lures you in. And I know he's fictional and all, but I could so easily lose myself in this story and connect with Seth *happy sigh*

The chemistry between Bobbie and Seth is off the charts and it only gets hotter when the story progresses, prrr. I loved the sexual and emotional build-up in their developing romance. I really loved how well developed the emotional part of their 'relationship' becomes.

Aside from the romance and the 'family' feels, there's enough angst woven throughout the book that had me glued to the pages from beginning till end. There's the Ahole of a biological father of Austin and then there are things going on revolving Seth's past catching up with him. Not all of the trouble in this story was necessary though, I think because it feels like some things couldn't develop well enough story-wise. In my opinion, it would've been better if not both main characters had trouble chasing them, that had to be fixed.

Alison Bliss has a great way of writing I think. It made me feel connected with the characters right from the start and like I said before, I was glued to the pages from the beginning 'till the end. And even though it's written only in 1 pov, whereas I normally prefer reading from 2 pov's, I still think all of the characters are really well developed. To me personally, it would've been more perfect if we'd had a chance to read Seth's pov as well. I was often wondering what his thoughts would be in specific moments and especially during the more angst-ridden scenes, I would've loved reading how he'd experienced it all. Not necessarily because I felt like things are missing, but more out of curiosity for his character, since I really liked him a lot.

After finishing this book, I'm really excited to read the prior 2 books as well.
I was intrigued by the minor characters and want to know more about them and their story, so they're now on my wishlist and I hope I can get around to buy and read them soon! This author was new to me and I'm glad I got to read one of her books. I love coming across new authors and I especially love it when their books are such fun reads! This is definitely a series you should give a go when you're into romance reads with some angst and drama, humor, a hot steamy and well-developed romance and just overall addictive writing.

Ever since Book 1 of the series I have wanted to read about Bobbie Jo and see her get her HEA.
In book 1, Rules of Protection (Tangled in Texas #1) we saw Bobbie Jo through the eyes of the heroine of that book Emily and at first she came across a bit like the villain, the other woman.

We know that she has a son and her ex is a dead beat, certainly no father to her boy.
This story starts when he son is 5.
I like the Hero and the heroine though there was a bit of push/pull which I am not keen on.

Humorous scenes with the child.

There are plenty of scenes with the previous couples from the series which is fantastic.

No o/w or o/m drama.

Her ex is around quite early on in the story but no romance between them.

No cheating. HEA. Epilogue.

ARC.

Great!

I have read the previous books in this series and really enjoyed them so I was excited to read this book. The first thing to say is that this author’s writing is so strong. Her words flow really well and nothing ever feels awkward. I liked Bobbie and Seth but sometimes Bobbie frustrated me with some of her choices. I also thought Jeremy was a little too over the top as a bad guy. Other than that this was a great book. I also loved catching up with the other couples.

This was a very enjoyable story. That although a little hard to get into, soon caught my attention and then really pulled me in. As there was a great mix of heat, angst and sweetness. Not to mention plenty of characters to love and even a few to loath. And I was really engaged throughout and particularly enjoyed how feisty and fierce Bobbie was. Especially when it came to protecting her son Austin from his dead beat dad Jeremy.

And as this is the first book I've read in the series, I have to say I never once felt lost or confused. But I would certainly go back and read the others and I would also happily recommend this story to others.

Great story!! Law of Attraction has lots of funny scenes and I loved the way the hero interacted with the heroine's child. The romance was sweet. Looking forward to the next book.

Bobby Jo's journey hasn't been easy being a single mother and sadly she got pregnant by one giant asshole but she got one precious kid who she adores and keeps doing her best to do good by him so she's doing everything she can to built her dream B&B but money is tight and she's still need a few projects to finally start. Until she agrees to rent a room to a good friend nephew who in return will help her complete those projects... but the attraction was instantaneous for both but neither wanted something serious... or so they thought.

And yay looooved seeing the whole gang together and finally getting the names :D

This book is adorable and I loved it. It's a story of a single mom and a drifter who comes to town for the summer. Things were not supposed to get complicated but the moment they saw each other they couldn't deny the chemistry and attraction between them. Things will definitely get complicated there is no doubt in that.
It's a very well-written novel and all the characters are amazing. I loved every conversation between Emily and Bobbie Jo. Their friendship is one of the highlights of the book, at least until Seth and Bobbie gets better acquainted. ;) After that it becomes a lot romantic and the ending is also perfect. All in all a great book!
