I picked it up cause I accidentally bought the 4th book about Aphrodite. Wasn't into the 1st book's retelling of Persephone/Hades

could have used a longer exposition, writing was actually good, the magic treaty was never explained, incredibly specifically kinky, but it wasn’t bad

5 stars

Quite possibly going to be upped to a 6 star read. 11/10 recommend.
Neon gods is a book I absolutely devoured. I wanted to read it from the moment I saw it was a Persephone and Hades mythological retelling. I would have read it even quicker if I had a copy on it on my e-reader or a physical book. But I only had access too the audiobook. On one hand I am grateful I had it as an audiobook because it makes me read slower. With that I get too enjoy it longer. On the other I just wanted too keep listening and got nothing else done.
This book was everything I want in a dark romance. Neon gods is a dark fantasy romance that is fast paced and incredibly steamy. The emotional layer in this book and the angst and slight dabble of mystery made it even better. Hades and Persephone their characters where so well done. Nothing but phrase there. I loved the book from start too finish and really don’t have any remarks on this book other then that I needed more. It had an end.

“You’ve ruined me, Persephone. Forgive the fuck out of me if I want to return the favor.”

This is so boring

this was fast and honestly super fun. as any percy jackson girlie during her teenage years, i'm still obsessed with greek mythology to this day and i loved the spin that katee robert has given to the olympus setting. was is the most developed urban fantasy world? definitely not! but if that was what i wanted then i wouldn't look for it in a katee robert book!

(but i did think she hinted towards a previous history with olympus that could maybe be explored in later books? i'm honestly not setting any expectations with this series but it's interesting enough!)

i loved the main couple and the protective dynamic between them and i'm excited to continue with the series.
adventurous dark emotional funny sad medium-paced

I liked this much better than the Wicked Villains series but it’s still not completely my cup of tea.
