This was a fun (and steamy) read. That being said, what I most enjoyed about this book were how the gods came to be. Not really gods with all the magic, just regular people. While the title of Zeus, Poseidon and Hades were passed down generationally, the rest of the gods were chosen. And because they were just regular people with no magic, way they ruled this "New Olympus" gave me mob vibes, which is always fun to read. (Says the person who never reads - and has never read - mob stories) However, I have watched mob movies, and those are fun.

We all know that Persephone and Hades end up together, no spoiler there. I was just disappointed with how quickly their relationship came to be, mainly because their love story didn't feel like a love story, so much as a one night stand that turned into a friends with benefits that eventually blossomed into love. At the end, I did believe they loved one another, it just didn't feel like that in the beginning. Maybe that's what Roberts was going for, I don't know.

All that to say, yeah, it was a fun read. However, to be all, "YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK!" no, no you don't. But if you want some smut/voyeurism stuff, this is your book.

love a good hades and persephone retelling. however, where’s the magic? are they not really supposed to be “gods” in this world? super confused on what world this takes place in. loved hades’ character. persephone was annoying but that comes with the territory. hermes is always a favorite, but the gender swap didn’t do it for me. the love story was cute though ngl

beginning of the book started off really strong for me but then felt rushed towards the end and underwhelming. would give 3.5 instead of 4 instead but still pretty good

I loveddddd this book. I had to give it a 4 star tho.
My only issue with this book is it felt too short and at times a bit surface level/rushed.
Like Persephone could’ve gone back to Zeus and been there for longer than like 6 hours and then Hades could have his big moment. I personally would’ve loved to see Hades get some type of actual revenge on Zeus. Like hurt that man dude, he killed your parents in cold blood.
Or Persephone not immediately being like jump my bones it’s fine yeah it’s totes to get back a Zeus… no other reason
