Young Stuart Horten feels alone and restless when his family uproots him to move to a new town until he stumbles across a magical family mystery.
Great read the kids who like mysteries with clever kids, codes, and puzzles. Reads like the Mysterious Benedict Society only with better movement, which I appreciate, and the Mr. Lemoncello books, but less reliant on homages to other classics.
The villains are almost Boris-and-Natasha style mustache-twirling caricatures but good fun. My only complaint relates to Horten's parents. His father and his mother feel largely out of touch and odd in an annoying, not in an endearing way. Evans doesn't seem to know what to do with them.

This was beyond adorable and, as the title suggests, miraculous. Such a fun middle grade mystery and absolutely a series I cannot wait to continue with.
Stuart Horton who is the main character was so precious and fun and all of the characters were so quirky and fun. Also the writing style was beyond lovely. Absolutely recommend :)

This is another great read-aloud story for my Grade 4 class. The father uses BIG words which is wonderful for vocabulary development. Stuart finds a secret message from his great-uncle, a famous magician, and goes on an adventure to find his lost workshop. The chapters are fairly short so good read-aloud material. I also like that there is a sequel that my students can read afterward. I just need to get my hands on it!

This was a good book for middle age readers (4th to 7th) looking for a good mystery/suspense.
Brilliant. Love the coins and the machines. Love the triplets that live next door. Love that the only books that I pick up believing to be one-offs turn into series. Here's hoping for a great couple of books to come
Charming and inventive. Fun puzzles and adventure for early middle-graders, with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor. Hope to read more of Stuart's adventures!
