Warning: Mild Spoilers Ahead.
I found this book to be fairly good right up until the conclusion when it all seemed to fall apart. For a story that's supposed to be about mechanical marvels, there's very little marvel involved. All about the telling and not the showing. Meh.

I picked this book (and the sequel) off of a sale rack at a local bookstore. I was completely drawn in by the covers, without even needing to read the back-cover-blurbs. As an adult, I enjoyed the book well enough; I was interested the whole way through and found Stuart, his parents, and April (the least annoying of the identical triplets next door) to all be quite endearing characterizations. Having said that, I also thought this book was quite good for the YR demographic. I am definitely going to read the sequel and will keep these books around. (Maybe for some future lil'uns of my own to read one day? ;)
