Excellent, classic story. I'm clad I finally took the time to read (listen) to this one! Less dramatic than, say, a Dickens novel, but no less engaging or interesting, especially with its look into the English culture of the time.

I love character-driven stories, and Jane Eyre is an amazingly well written character. Eyre is so very human, with her own opinions and views on the world. It is fascinating to read about her life in detail, as the novel starts with Eyre’s childhood as a ten year old. I like the fact that we get to know her as a child, because that really is where the story begins. Her life, her character, is the story, not just the romance that she happens to have later in life.
It really is a great read and I recommend it for all classic literature lovers.

I just love it okay. I read this in high school and it has been a favorite every since. I have reread it twice since, both at different times in my life, and I have found new aspects of Jane to identify with. She is a well fleshed out character with a truly aspirational sense of self and moral character.  Despite his (many) flaws, Rochester is a DIVA and I have to respect that.

This is a classic for a reason and I would recommend that anyone read it.
