You know what? In the end, I ended up enjoying this book a lot more than I was expecting. Through the beginning, I felt as though the story was dragging me along through things that I found no interest or importance in. However, Jane's later decisions would have made little sense if we as readers did not understand where she was coming from.

The circumstances under which this story was written are fascinating. Nearing the last 100 pages or so, I started to realize the significance of this book in the history of women and literature. I truly believe it was a pioneer in abandoning the NeoClassical style of literature, and for that I have great respect.

I will say that above all, I hold great appreciation for both Jane Eyre and Charlotte Brontë. Also, I am content with the fact that Jane turned out to be the badass heroine that I knew was there.

I think this is one of my favourite classics. At first the misogynistic thought and time period is frustrating and then it all gets better. This is a great book and Mr Rochester and Jane are awesome characters. I'll definitely need to reread this to annotate it.
