I mostly liked it....although Caden was like a typical YA heroine, somewhat clueless and got all the time distracted by our brooding Love Interest Dylan...:D
I must admit that some of the scenes were pretty hot and I certainly have never been the biggest fan of gay romance, so well done! :P

My mom sent me this title yesterday with the note "sounds gay, you should read it" so like any good queer I bought it on kindle and read it from start to finish in like seven hours. Writing-wise it wasn't phenomenal, but the character and relationship development was to die for. I am in love with this story, and it did not disappoint.
3/5 stars:
This book was exactly what I expected and what I needed it to be: an entertaining and fluffy M/M love story with a slight pinch of angst and an action plot that while not overly complex was interesting.
The book is a nice, refreshing and fast read that I recommend as a light summer read. The story was by no means perfect and yet I was hooked, mainly because I needed to know more about Caden and Dyl. Their love story was cute and sweet even with its ups and downs. I have to be honest and say I got really mad by the "plot twist" by like page 260-270
In regards to the characters I have to say I liked all of them even though I had no major feelings about them, like they were likable but they didn't make me fall in love with them. I was of course rooting for all of them and I really enjoyed Caden's and Dyl's interactions but i just feel like the characters weren't as flexed out as they could have been. I enjoyed how Juliet was portrayed even. I also liked Natalie's (very minor) sub plot even if it was quite easy to guess.
The pop culture references in this book were plenty and I enjoyed them because I feel like they gave the characters (especially Dyl and Caden) a little bit more of complexity.
One thing I kept rolling my eyes about by the last hundred pages or so of the book was the complete lack of parental supervision for the "real" teenagers (Juliet and Trevor). Actually just the complete disregard for their lives (both their survival and their responsibilities/loved ones/etc) was a little dumbfounding but I never expected this book to delve into this issues because it wasn't really what it was about.
I'm a little sad that some things at the end of the book were left unexplained because I could have read another 50/60 pages of the book (or even just 10 more in the epilogue) so the whole ending of the Love Interests business could have been a little explored instead of just mentioned. But I was satisfied with the ending and the book overall.

because I truly believed they were going with the "no homo" turn in which Dyl had just been using Caden but I'm so glad that was just a little of drama mixed into their story and that they ended up togetherIn regards to the characters I have to say I liked all of them even though I had no major feelings about them, like they were likable but they didn't make me fall in love with them. after finding out about the Love Interest secret, even though it was a little unrealistic to think that after finding out something so huge she'd be completely fine with risking her life and just not mad or sad at allThe pop culture references in this book were plenty and I enjoyed them because I feel like they gave the characters (especially Dyl and Caden) a little bit more of complexity.

never trust a bitch named Dylan, unless it's Dylan from Charlie's Angels (2000)
4.5 really. This book was delightful and silly and fun and such a wonderful take on the YA genre. I enjoyed it so much.
Oh my god. This book is everything. It's fast-paced, fun, deceptive, and just all-around a good time. I'll be honest--I went into this book thinking that it'd be a little hokey, what with the clear deconstruction of love triangles, but man, it was the best thing I've read in a long time. There were points where I thought I knew where it was headed, points where I had no idea, and it all wrapped up in a way that left me satisfied--not triumphant that I picked up on the clues, and not disappointed that I'd failed to pick up other clues, either. Overall, just a fantastic read, structure-wise.
Caden is such an interesting character, going against what he's been labelled as while simultaneously listening to and questioning his role in the institution within which he's been raised. And Dylan? LOVE HIM. Juliet? LOVE HER. Really, really. What I love best about this book is probably the way that all of the teenagers--who eventually realize what's going on--support each other even after they realize that they've been betrayed and lied to. LOVE IT.
It's so inventive, creative, and I just loved it. It's the perfect gay summer read. Don't miss out on it!!

This book was amazing. I didn’t realised it was going to be featuring gay guys until I started suspecting and actually read the blurb for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised.
