admito q disfruté el romance (me entretuvo) pero ya para el final era todo un delirio místico, los personajes tenían cero personalidad y la historia era predecible full.

AUNQUE cumple con lo q promete, había partes donde me era todo muy inverosímil.

May BOTM Pick. I really enjoyed this one! It reminded me of a cross between Hunger Games and Divergent, just with more emphasis on the relationships, which in turn are the source of your death or life in this case. It was a tad bit predictable. However, it was the kind of predictable where it was still a page-turner because you want to know if you were right or if the author was going to throw in some big twist. There were a few twists that I didn't necessarily see coming, but I wasn't shocked either. Dietrich is also an advocate for something he strongly believes in, and it is apparent throughout the pages of this book. However, I will let you figure out what that is, so as not to spoil it for the everyone. Overall, one of the better BOTM picks I've had and it was refreshing to read a YA novel like this. It's been awhile!

im so happy i reread this book because I love it so much. I'm a sucker for a pretty questionable plot but a great romance and the idea behind this one always just makes me really happy. I think this book is great and I'm so excited for the book he has coming put with sophie Gonzalez cause I mean its not larry but its larry ya know. but yeah this was great. as I read: what about the chosens who are gay or something are there ppl for that? i want more stories of other ppl like natalie like in this world. i think it would be so interesting like I know they destroyed it and stuff but I think it would be rlly cool to see how other things have gone down. him saying he thought he was straight cause everyone treated him like he was and no one ever gave him the chance to think otherwise was good and I really feel like that's just in normal life like I think more people shouldn't just be treated like they're going to be straight. if i ever got two love interests i’d know it was fake like if two random people were all of a sudden in love with me, like no bitch that's fake. having dyl say to caden that he didn’t actually like him made me so sad the first time and same with this time like I get it was to add stuff but it made me so sad cause like he just risked his life for you and dyl was just like um no. i just feel like it’s a little unrealistic that dyl was still lying to caden about his feelings. jk he mentioned that gay people needed love interests so i like that that was answered . i’m actually upset that trevor dies like it makes me so sad cause he was like talented with swimming and everything. idk I also love seeing a year later and seeing them happy.
so yes I love this book and I'm excited to read the friend scheme and hopefully I really like it but well see, I just did really like this book and I'm happy it stands up.

I really liked the idea of this book, it's a really neat concept. I don't think the execution was great, it was good at the start, but the ending really dragged and I thought it was really boring at that point. I liked reading it and I enjoyed a lot of individual things about the characters and their relationships, but I wouldn't really recommend it or read it again.

The Love Interest sounded interesting but the storyline was thin. Everything happened very quickly, without much description, and was predictable. This storyline had potential but I didn't enjoy reading it as much as I thought I would. #BookOfTheMonth #BOTM #May2017

The plot for the book sounded really interesting. I think in the end the plot wasn't written out as well as it could have been.

A fun, self aware YA read. Great for a bus ride or beach!

This book reminds me of the vibe of Ally Carter's books, you're probably going to see a lot of the twists coming but it's so fun to read that you're not going to stop. I enjoyed reading this book, it was a unique concept and the main character was compelling and not frustrating. I genuinely wanted to keep reading, and that's why it's four stars for me. I think it helps that I read this over the span of a few days while travelling so the pacing didn't drag.

The writing skewed a little towards the younger end of YA but it managed to raise some thought provoking questions without feeling too serious. I was kind of frustrated by Juliet and how she was characterised, but maybe that's just me getting too old for this stuff. I did feel like the ending was a bit rushed, and certain things didn't get the space to cause the emotional impact that I think they deserved. I wanted a lot more from the relationship and the overall plot at the end there. The trouble with dystopian concepts like this is that the ultimate goal of overthrowing a problematic societal norm feels so unachievable.

The problem with having a great blurb is that people will put high expectation on your book. TLI was one of my most anticipated 2017 releases and I really wanted to like it, but despite a decent start, it was ultimately a let down.
I mean, this book is supposed to be a lot of fun. It's a book that subvert tropes and give us fresh take on love triangle. However, plot holes, poor worldbuilding, the lack of chemistry between characters, and awkward dialogues lessened the fun to a good degree to a point where I just want it to end.
Rating: 2.5 stars.
