The Dogon are known for their sophisticated culture and complex cosmology. In this book, Laird Scranton shows how the Dogon creation "myths" have deeper scientific meaning. Not an easy book to read but providing a wealth of information.

great on dogon + string (and torque) theories, but it gets too rushed on the decline of serpent religions.
