Really enjoyed this, one of the better thrillers I have read recently.
I think the author did a good job of pacing the story. Just as you start to think you have a handle on what's actually going on, you find a breadcrumb that makes you rethink whatever theory you had brewing.

... I will admit, I feel I am being generous with this rating, but truth is, I finished the book in a day. It kept me engaged for that entire day. I didn't get distracted and do something else, so that has to say something. ....

I did have many flashbacks to the early pandemic days.
Up until the very last page, this novel kept me enthralled. When Ciara and Oliver end up meeting each other, not by chance, we find out that Oliver killed another child when he was 12 with his accomplish Shane. Shane is actually Ciara’s brother who went down as the main murder and ended up killing himself in jail. When a body in the apartments is found, Oliver’s, we go back and forth from present, the police investigation, to multiple days and perspectives to piece the story together.

4.3 / 5 ***

This book was pretty gripping and well done. It was the first book I read that makes use of the COVID pandemic as a large part of the story, and I found that to be really interesting. Alternating timelines and unreliable narrators made it an intriguing mystery, with twists and turns all the way through to the end. Shocking ending that I didn't see coming at all. I'd recommend this one to suspense fans.
