I really enjoyed this. It was a lot of fun.

The characters were great. The mystery was interesting. Using Morse code was super cool.

I’ve had this on my physical shelves since probably 2014. It was on my goodreads want to read since 2013. And okay.. it took me a whole long length of time to actually read this but I’m so glad I did!

It was a bundle of fun and I want to definitely read the next ones! Also the book not but something to do with the book showed me something about myself that maybe I could do and I love that about it.

I loved the beginning of this book, where they show Reynie, Sticky and Kate solving the tests and puzzles in totally different, interesting ways, which was a good way to develop the characters as individuals with unique personality traits and not just as a group of smart children. I also loved the action-packed ending, where the hints, allusions, and plans of the entire book all came together into a rip-roaring climax. But the middle of the book, when the children arrive at the L.I.V.E. complex on Nomansan Island, drags endlessly on, and drags the entire book down a bit. The literary comparisons to Lemony Snicket and Roald Dahl are spot on.
