The book was, generally speaking, good. The writing was great, and I enjoyed reading it. The characters, at most points, began to get annoying. Though this, I think, didn't necessarily detract from the story, it demonstrated how poorly the characters had really adjusted to the world as it is in Ephemera. The story itself was interesting, particularly the landscapes reclaimed by nature and the human settlements that had popped up. The story was slow in places and very fast in others, almost to the point that X happened, then Y happened, and then we're back on the river again, without any real exploration of what really happened or why.

Overall, good story, I enjoyed it, but I wasn't fully enraptured by it.
