very informative and a good introduction to a topic i’m hoping to read more on. going into this i didn’t know that kern grew up around and lived in toronto, and it was interesting to read her firsthand experiences and analyses of the city.

Fascinating insight into urban geography and the choices that are made that impact women. Intersectional too

Listened to the audiobook via Hoopla for We Bike Book Club August 2021. Not sure if this is a duplicate book of this entry, or not: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/57891268-feminist-city
Very interesting- didn't talk as much on bus routes as I expected, or biking. I think a discussion of who chooses where bikelanes go and why would be a good addendum. It does cover some intersectionality regarding race, LGBTQ, and disability.
I didn't know feminist geography was a thing you could study before now, which is a shame because I love geography. But now I know!
Would recommend, though. The audiobook was great- but warning: the last hour or so is the reader reading all the references, which I suppose is an attempt at accessibility of the notes, but the notes aren't really connected to the audio book like references in a physical book are, so not really accessible at all.
