Lots of fun and it seems that they now have a solid cast of characters established! Ive been told the next couple books are really good so im excited to see what will happen next now that all the players are here.

Fun and silly, but so many of these series are so similar. I hope the next one has a few different twists

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? Yes
  • Diverse cast of characters? Yes
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

Not sure why I had so much trouble getting into this one, but it really took some effort. And I felt that the mystery was a little muddled, but maybe I just wasn't in the mood? I did love a lot of the character development stuff in this one.

The Emersons finally make a significant archeological find, Ramses & Nefret spar & squabble, they "adopt" another stray, meet a new charming rogue who is sure to show up later, and encounter Theosophists.

The debut of David and thus the start of the younger trio. Lots of fun.
