A face-paced and easy read that features a powerful, no-nonsense female lead who nonetheless has her own set of relatable vulnerabilities. I feel that many women, especially those of a minority, can relate to Ingrid Yung as she battles for her position in a cutthroat corporate world which neglects diversity or the contributions that intelligent, hard-working women make but are often overlooked and overshadowed.
Graphic: Racial slurs and Racism
Moderate: Classism, Cursing, Misogyny, Sexism, and Toxic relationship
Minor: Sexual content

I definitely wouldn’t have enjoyed this book if I hadn’t watched the TV show on Netflix. It’s very different from the show so it kept it interesting enough to keep me curious in how the story would play out, but I definitely don’t think I would have enjoyed this if I had picked it up first. It’s cleaner than the TV show but still has a little bit of sexual content but mainly in conversations and not describing scenes, nowhere close to the show. A decent amount of language and racial issues similar to the show as well. Overall, and interesting book that I read mainly to compare to the Netflix show.
