A modern day Jane Eyre retelling. Closed door romance, overall enjoyable. The second half moved very quickly compared to the first.

While I never thought that 'Jane Eyre' needed a modern retelling (on account of it still being plenty relevant on its own - over 175 years later!), I thoroughly enjoyed this book and all the thoughtful changes that were made to the original plot.
And I think that, despite following the original setup and plot pretty closely, this book managed to stand on its own quite well, too. I loved this version of Jane both in her own right and as a faithful rendition of the original Jane in the way she was eagerly making the most out of the tiniest opportunities afforded her.

Lovely and highly rereadable. I think this is in danger of becoming another looped trap for me, like 'Howl's Moving Castle'.

Jane’s introspection is very nice. all the other characters are flat.
