Really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the next book. I found the world building in this book some of the best I have read. The characters were interesting and the story was very engaging.

I tried really hard but I couldn't commit to the book.

4.5/5 this was great! In a world of YA fantasy books that all seem fairly formulaic and rotate out the same few tropes, this felt really fresh and unique. The writing was great, the world and the characters were compelling, and the themes were on point.

Really enjoyed the first 75-100 pages. I saw a lot of potential in the worldbuilding and mythology. Though the pace was slow, there was enough to keep me interested. Unfortunately it slowed down so much that I felt like nothing was happening. I'd like to pick this up again in the future, maybe when I'm in the mood for something more slow and meandering. But I'm not sure I'll ever be in the mood for the insta-love other reviewers have mentioned.
