Okay Cormac McCarthy really pisses me off but this was metal as f*ck 
A carnival of depravity and endless suffering if u will 

I just don't understand why he has to Tarantino the damn thing and pepper in every possible slur he could think of big eyeroll

It is absolutely incredible. The atmosphere, the language, the characters, the plot, it is so absorbing. It’s a very hard book to read, the prose is confusing, but there’s just something about it that is so addictive. I am about to read all I can about the book and am already looking forwards to the reread.

A difficult but rewarding read. The stream of consciousness style was both engrossing and hard to follow.  A meditation on the brutality and inhumanity of man and the persistence of evil.

A truly dark western that doesn’t look away from the horror of colonization for one instant. A thoroughly uncomfortable read at times and absurdly funny at times. It is not for the faint of heart and there are no happy endings. Impossible not to think about long after putting it down.

Violence is inherent to our nature as humans. There are some who participate, and those who do not. Like the bear who killed the Delawares and the dancing bear who was shot dead in the bar.

Full of beautiful, meditative descriptions of the desert landscape broken up by some of the most horrific and depraved acts of violence put to page. I’m honestly not sure if I liked it but it was masterfully written and I’m going to think about it for a long, long time.
