Heartsore.
One way to describe the adventures within this book.
The stories that come out of how one dies is heartsore.
Finally we hear how Jacob passed, Cass saves another soul and the description of Paris is just amazing.

I feel like children's books are Victoria schwabs niche
I absolutely adore this series - they take me back to when I read Harry Potter the first time and I just could NOT put them down. I just want to take a moment to thank Victoria Schwab for really doing her research on Paris. I visited for the first time in 2017 and when she spoke of going through the entrance of and through the Catacombs I was instantly transported back to my own visit - her description is spot on. And then I did a mini flail when Cassidy and her family stopped at a sidewalk cafe and had a croque monsieur because it was exactly what I did after leaving the Catacombs! Can I PLEASE go back to Paris?
It makes my heart sing when an author puts such care into crafting the setting of their story - it’s far more important than what a character is WEARING (I can imagine that on my own thank you very much). I felt as though I was back - I could tell she has either been in person or did immense research (or both) to make sure that nothing was amiss in her depiction of the city. (For instance, being in the louvre one sentence and then the Eiffel Tower the next. If you can’t tell I recently read a book in which the characters visited Paris and it was severely lacking.) There were only a couple of inconsistencies that I noticed - the fact that the bottom of the Eiffel Tower is surrounded by fences and metal detectors instead of a free range park now in days and Notre Dame... but being that I’m sure that fire happened LONG after this story was sent to the publishers... for the sake of the story we’ll go with it.
This series is fun and spooky and a total page turner - I HIGHLY recommend no matter your age (I’m 30 lol) and I can’t wait to read about Cassidy’s adventures and fall in love with a new city in the next one (according to this site the title of book 3 is Bridge of Souls and I’m going to guess that it’s based in.... Prague? Which is a city I’ve also been to and omg I hope so!)

I like how at the beginning the author goes briefly over the past book so that you don't have to read the previous book to know what's going on. In this book you can also see how this was book was aimed for middle/high school due to the actions of Cassidy - which are what I remember being similar to. In all I enjoyed going to Paris with Cassidy and ghost hunting with her in this book.
