i liked this book a lot because its very informative about what goes on in black neighborhoods and black families basically black people in general. i think everyone should read this book if you aren’t triggered by the things mentioned ofc. (especially white people should read it)

The more I reflect on it, the more masterful I feel Thomas's characters are. The inner monologue of Starr navigates daily and systemic racism in ways that shed light for both sides to empathize and learn. Timely and instructive.
