This book has been challenged across the US and therefore it’s a vitally important read. It touches on gender, sexuality, romantic and non-romantic relationships and growing up and trying to understand your own identities and how they intersect. I highly recommend this read for those working to better understand themselves and those around them.

This was a good book, and at the same time, one of the most challenging books I've ever read. At times, it was triggering to read and a little more relevant to my life than I had anticipated. I appreciated the perspective in the novel, especially in the graphic novel format that I'm not accustomed to. I also appreciate and respect the level of vulnerability that is required to create something like this. This book makes me wonder the ways I would've processes this at a younger age. I think it would have been good for me, but I think it'd still challenge me in the ways it's challenging me now. Would recommend to those who are open to the subject matter.

this is my second memoir, and i am officially convinced i need to read more!! i loved every second of this and am so happy i read this one. while i cannot connect to the feeling's maia experienced in eir adolescence and young adulthood, i found it very informative! 100% recommend this one, especially if you are nonbinary and/or asexual and want to connect to someone who struggled with eir gender identity and sexuality growing up!!

I hate that this one has caused so much controversy.  It is a really important resource for queer and questioning youth.  I’m glad this new generation of youth has books like this to answer and guide.

Gender Queer is the first graphic novel I’ve ever read. I loved that this memoir was a graphic novel I think that it made the content even more approachable for readers. I read this book quickly in one sitting. I really felt for Maia as I read. Also, the illustrations in this book were fabulous. I would totally recommend this book!
