➽ In volume 52 the navy is about to storm Sabaody because Luffy punched a Celestial Dragon! Since Luffy's entire character stands for freedom, it was only a matter of time before he clashed with those who enslave others. In order to save Hatchan, Luffy goes all out and brings a crisis to the island, as an Admiral gets called in for this incident. Nevertheless, Luffy and his crew never regret saving a friend, especially since they've finally got Camie back with them! A mysterious old man turns out to be Hatchan's coating specialist. However, he's no ordinary person, but the first mate to the former pirate king! Silvers Rayleigh is a legend in his own right and ends up saving Camie by removing her explosive collar. He simply radiates power and even manages to knock out almost everyone still in the auction house! Later on, he chats with the Strawhats, who he considers part of the new generation that'll bring change to the world of pirates. I love how Luffy was adamant to not ask him about the One Piece and what it is. He wants to go on an adventure and it's no fun if he already knows what awaits them. I just love Luffy and his boundless enthusiasm!
➽ Luffy's actions have repercussions, as Admiral Kizaru arrives to intercept the Strawhats. His power is cool, as he can turn into light and I love his character design! In the anime, his voice actor does such a great job portraying his character! The other Supernovas are either preparing to flee from the Navy or seeing how it plays out. Kidd and Law aren't ones to back down and I loved seeing their devil fruits in action! This volume definitely shows the might of the admirals as X Drake, Apoo and Hawkins don't manage to subdue Kizaru even though they all have powerful devil fruits!
➽ The Strawhats are running for their lives as they've realized that they can't win against an admiral and his allies. They're planning on meeting up after 3 days when Rayleigh has finished coating their ship. However, things quickly escalate as there seem to be multiple Kuma cyborgs pursuing them. I thought that they were terrifying and it's horrific that the government is developing them as weapons of mass destruction. If it wasn't bad enough the original Kuma also shows up at the last minute and simply vanishes Zoro!
