It's been a while since I read volume four, so it took me a couple of pages to remember who everyone was and what was going on. But once I did, it was enjoyable. Compared to the earlier volumes, the characters are much easier to keep straight. I'm not sure if that's because I've become more familiar with them or because they've all developed their own unique looks by now. Story wise, it's pretty much like all the other volumes so far: lots of drama, constant zombie threat, and the eternal search for civilization. They do find some other survivors in this volume, though their leader is . I really feel for Rick's wife, but she's starting to get on my nerves quite a bit. Her complaining is legitimate, and her pregnancy is probably doing horrible things to her moods, but I still want to smack her sometimes. I think I especially want to smack her because she ends up punishing her son for her own personal issues.

completely insane. He keeps his zombie daughter almost like a pet, feeds strangers to kept arena zombies, and has the heads of people he's killed in what look like small aquariums.

Fängt langsam an und endet mit einem bösen und fiesen Cliffhanger. Ich glaube nicht, dass die Serie bisher einen so abgefuckten und menschenverachtenden Unterton (zumindest vom Verhalten der der Überlebenden) gezeigt hat. Letztendlich aber eine Konsequenz, die ich leider für durchaus realistisch halte.
Ein paar mal musste ich hart schlucken, teilweise sehr drastische Bilder, und wenn es so weiter geht, bleibt von Rick nicht mehr viel übrig.

I like the story arc this thing is taking, but the human depravity stuff is killing me. It just feels like the author really wants to remind me over and over again how awful some people are in this new world. Some stuff makes sense, some stuff just feels over the top.
