Two conflicted stars for me on this one. The first four were quite enjoyable, but holy cow did this take a *dark* turn this issue. I get that it's the apocalypse and everything but sheesh. The treatment of women is icky and it leaves a lot to be desired. I think there were plenty of other routes each of the female characters could have taken and instead we got...this. Warning for everyone: quite graphic sexual assault occurs in this issue.
Don't trust my rating. Don't trust anything I say. This comics are a total mindfuck that could be considered craptastic. Even so, I just can't stop reading and dropping my jaw over and over again.

This is like a 2.5 stars. Definitely skipped pages in this one, there’s some very gnarly stuff. I’m sure Kirkman doesn’t hate women, but he’s not doing a lot to convince me. All the women are either incompetent, a nuisance, or if they are capable and strong, immediately torn down in depraved ways. The story seems stronger in this one, but the characters are a let down.
The story really ramps up in this volume with the introduction of The Govenor. Really shocking stuff in this volume.
