Didn't like this book at all. I understand it was "stories" of her life but there was no flow, not chronological. She's very self-centered and fully admits it.

If you love Katharine Hepburn you will want to read this memoir. Hepburn tries to set the record straight but this is not a sleezy tell-all. A great memoir.

My mother loved this book and now I see why. It's so honest, and you can hear Katharine's voice in every line -- no ghost writer here. Full of vibrance and character. I'm glad I picked it up.

Exactly what I would have expected—she made it sound exactly like listening to her tell stories—interjections, questions to the listener, and all.

Listened to the audiobook of this. I like how honest and frank Katharine seems to be, she's not ashamed to point out her faults. I enjoyed the stories, although sometimes they felt a little cut off, just like the end. Maybe something was missing from my audio files?

This book was written by Katharine Hepburn when she was in her 80s and it reads just like you'd expect an 80-year-old to talk. She often starts to tell you a story, then gets sidetracked talking about something inconsequential before saying "oh but I was telling you about so-and-so." I often felt like I was reading a really long Facebook status written by one of those old people we all know exist on Facebook.

Nevertheless, the stories were fascinating and I loved learning so much about how she functioned as a human. She's brutally honest about both her strengths and her shortcomings and often talks about how terrible of a person she was at times. A really great read.
