“I've seen what you truly are, and I've never turned away. I never will. Can he say the same?”

I went into this book really wary; my luck with sequels tends to be very poor, and I thought this one might just be another disappointment. But as I kept reading, I found myself surprised by how much I was enjoying myself with this. I don't think it's better than the first, in fact I think they're pretty equal to each other in terms of quality, which is refreshing in YA trilogies.

My favorite addition to this book has to be, hands down, Nikolai. He was really funny, charming, and such a nice change from all the brooding and sadness of our other main characters. I really hope that he's a major player in Ruin and Rising (and that he has a happy ending, or at least doesn't die).
